I’m Bryan Davis and I am the founder and Executive Director of Parents Making a Difference.

One of the great things about living in NYC is that, when it comes to schooling, we have a choice. There are some really fabulous middles schools and high schools here in the city. Some of the best in the nation. And they are available to kids that work hard and get good grades, no matter their socio-economic background.

Here in NYC kids really do have access to the American Dream. But to access that dream parents have to be vigilant and do their research to ensure that they find a school that best fits their child's needs. For even the savviest of parents, the high school application process can be a daunting one.

That's where Parents Making a Difference comes in. As a non-profit parent advocacy organization, our mission is to help parents navigate the educational bureaucracy and give them the tools they need to make sure their child gets a great education. And this is just the first of a series of classes we'll be producing: there's more to come about maximizing your high school experience, and we've got lots of videos lined up for parents of elementary and middle school students as well. In fact, our goal at PMAD is to support you and your child all the way from preschool to college--and our content will ALWAYS be free.
